My First Bee Sting

I was splashing in my Auntie's pool. Then, I got stung by a bee. But when I got stung from the bee, it felt like a big bug bite. I cried.  My cousin told my Auntie.  Then they pulled out the stinger. Then they put some medicine on my finger. They covered it up with a band aid. Then they gave me something to drink. Then it was time for me to go home.

The bee died in the pool.

My Swimming Day

On Oct. 11th, I left school early because everybody was suppose to. When I was leaving school, I went to a restaurant and ate a cookie ice cream.  And then, I went and I wanted to go swimming. I was only able to swim underwater without floaties. After I went swimming, I was playing hide and seek with my cousins. And at the end of the day, really early in the night, I was making s'mores and roasting marshmallows with my Auntie Kimmy, her friends, and my cousins. I love to make them and eat them and I like the fire because it was warm.

The Twenty-Fourth Day of School

It was a sunny day.

On the twenty-forth day of school, in the morning, I went to the cafeteria and I sitted next to my friend Vaughn. We went to get some breakfast.  Then after we finished our breakfast our teacher came to pick us up from the cafeteria. Then we went inside and started to get out our calendars and then we started to draw. I drew the sun because it was sunny on the twenty-fourth day of school.

Then it was time for PE.  We went to the playground. I was hopping on one foot with my friend. After we finished PE then our teacher came to pick us up to go to the cafeteria. Then we went to the playground again because that's what we do after lunch. Then we went back to the classroom. Then our teacher spoke Spanish. Then she read a book. After the book, we wrote the book in our journals. Then we started to do our agendas. Then it was time for us to go.

A note from Kaylee's Mom- Kaylee typed the entire first sentence by herself today.  It took her about 8 minutes. She was very proud of her work.  I transcribed the rest exactly the way she told the story.

My First Lunch of First Grade

On the first day of school, I had for lunch a Lunchable and a orange.  I got it to school with my Sofia the First lunch box. I sitted with my new friend Mia and we played together. We played hide and seek.

I am learning about patterns. We took pictures and I talked about it with the Sonic Pics app on my mom's iPhone.

Pretend I Speak Spanish

This is Kaylee's second week of Dual Language Kindergarten.  For the past two days, she has been pretending to sing and read in Spanish at home.  She is even mixing in a few real words and asking about unfamiliar words she hears in class.  Yesterday, we used Google Translate because she heard her teacher say, "xilófono," a few times in class.  Kaylee wanted to know what her teacher was saying.  We used the audio feature in Google Translate and discovered it's a xylophone.  Learning Spanish is going to be fun.
